Northwest Maritime Center goes to bid

vetdaystorm07.JPGWith unanimous approval and applause, the Northwest Maritime Center and Wooden Boat Foundation boards voted to go forward with the construction bid announcement on January 28, 2008. Stan Cummings, Executive Director and David King, Board President are available to answer questions from news media, members and general public through December.

On a personal note, we ran out of space for classes this summer and were tripping on each other at times. I look forward to getting the programs on Water Street, giving the Wooden Boat Chandlery the space it desperately needs and at the same time, continuing to work with the Port for growing more Point Hudson marine trades opportunities, more events, getting more boats here year round. It's an exciting time, with some exciting weather to punctuate the occasion.

This photo shows the NWMC dock during the Veteran's Day 2007 storm when gusts reached 70 knots.
