Finding Pax: Women in the wooden boat world
About Kaci: WBF Program Description
Circumnavigator, author, NWMC & WBF managing director & Festival director, Kaci resisted owning a boat for a decade, even with the extreme temptations crossing her path every day at the Wooden Boat Foundation. In August 2007, she succumbed to an almost 70 year old Danish double-ender named Pax. In 11 months of restoration, peace (pax in latin) is redefined.

Pax ready for winter on-the-hard
After a flurry of work by shipwright Diana Talley, apprentice Amy Schaub, and the crews at Sea Marine, I'm now working away in solitude - planning, installing, testing, thinking, ticking off one small item on the perennial list of To Dos. We've decided to leave Pax on the hard at Sea Marine until February when we'll hope the weather will be kind enough to let us launch to a slip at Point Hudson.
If you're curious how we're doing, send an email. Or check in on the Spidsgatter Pax gallery for photos with captions, when I can get my fingers clean enough for the keyboard!
