Bali Hai on Moorea Island
This pinnacle is the highest along a ridge of spectacular beauty on the island of Moorea. It's silhouette is almost as inspiring as the way it appears in velvet green tropical daylight.

Bedwell Harbor Sunrise
The San Juans and Canada's Gulf Islands provide rare cruising grounds less than a day from Vancouver or a little longer from Seattle.
-
Christmas with ocean views
Glass ornaments make it easy to still see the ocean every day, even at Christmas!
-
Dolphins at Tethys bow.
Dolphins of all kinds would ride the bow wave, especially if we were sailing above 5 knots. This shot is of Giant Common Dolphins in the south Atlantic enroute from St. Helena to Fortaleza, Brazil.

Nigel Calder and Kaci at 2005 Wooden Boat Festival
Nigel Calder, author of The Boat Owner's Mechanical & Electrical Manual among other notable writings, was our special guest at the 29th Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend, September 8-11, 2005. He was a spectacular presenter, besides being an all-around wonderful guy.

Seattle Homecoming 2001
It was always surprising to have press greet us at the docks. All women boats are still too rare!

Point Wilson view of October Storm 2004
Here at the point where the Puget Sound ends and the Straits of Juan de Fuca begin, we get some incredible wind. There's a reason tall ships loved Port Townsend Bay.

2000 miles from any land
This photo was taken somewhere in between Galapagos and Hawaii. We cruised west with the southeasterly trade winds and exchanged emails with NOAA in Florida after having passed quite close to one of their weather buoys earlier that day.

Ocean waves at Cape Agulhas, South Africa
This area is rich in marine life. While the Cape of Good Hope is more famous, Cape Agulhas is actually the more southern point of the African continent. Here, 3 oceans mix: Atlantic, Indian and Arctic.

Tethys in Thailand, first circle
This photo was taken by the guys on Amaddon Light. They were circumnavigating when Nancy was making her first trip around the world. This shot is near Phuket, Thailand.

Tethys escorted into Seattle
We dressed ship with 28 country flags. That's Nancy Erley at the helm.
